Using the Google Keyword Planner

An important component of any paid search or SEO campaign is excellent keyword research. If you know what keywords are being performed by your potential customers, clients and fans online, then you’ll know what keywords should be used within the content of your website and blog posts.

Earlier this year I wrote a post on about how to perform excellent keyword research. A main component of that post was about how to use the Google Keyword Tool. That tool, a staple of Google’s toolbox for the past few years, is now removed from Google altogether. Taking its place will be the Google Keyword Planner, which combines the functionality of the Keyword Tool and Traffic Estimator (another tool for keyword research) into a more efficient, integrated workflow.
